Yesterday I moved back for my last preseason of Cross Country. This season, we have a new coach, who is probably the nicest guy anyone could ever meet!
Anyways, so before practice began, he made a point that stuck with me, and I feel like it could help anyone whether they're an athlete or not. Every single day, when you wake up in the morning, you have goals. If there is something you are passionate about in your life, you set goals to achieve what you want and improve upon your skills. Knowing that you have this power, should make you feel energized and motivated to get out of bed every day!
When it comes to any sport, the effort is 50/50, meaning, half of the effort comes from your coach, and the other half comes from you. Your coach could be either the best in the world or the absolute worst. All of the effort your coach will put in for you WILL NOT matter if YOU don't put in the effort as well. Whatever you put in, you'll get out.
Your mind is the most powerful tool you have. If you believe in yourself, then the sky's the limit! You've already won half the battle if you just believe in yourself. This also applies to not only sports, but in your personal lives as well.
It's a new week with new opportunities in store. Are you ready to believe in yourself?
